Cactus Tea cosie

A present for ~Engelmancers dad a little while ago. I was inspired to knit this when looking at cacti in the botanical gardens (this is really going back! Three years?)

Anyhow, his dad has a little collection of cacti, and drinks tea. Cue, the inevitable gift of the cactus tea cosie.

Pattern is a mod to of the neon tea cosie (see below) and, for a bit of a decorative touch, I added a few spare flowers from the flower keyrings I made (also below).

A few weeks ago, it was decided that the cosie wasn't long enough for the teapot (it fitted mine! Theirs is just bigger!) so I knitted a little 'plant pot' extension.

Its strange how things come together sometimes...also, never try and explain to little old ladies on the train that you're trying to knit a cactus tea cosie. I must have spent hours trying to explain that one to a good number of people...
